Autumnal Hapa Zome - Adults workshop

15.00

Hapa Zome is an ancient Japanese practice of hammering leaves and flowers onto paper or fabric, thus transferring the plants coloured pigments onto the surface.

In this workshop we will be arranging coloured leaves onto fabric, and using a rounded beach pebble we will gently 'bash' the designs through. Once we have our fabric we will then create a pennant style wall hanging, perfect for seasonal decoration in the home. In this workshop we will be setting the colours with a steam iron and using a sewing machine to create a permanent loop for the dowel. We will also be considering the edges and hemming, fraying or using pinking shears in your design of choice and there will also be a choice of string or ribbon for hanging.

All materials provided. Approx 2 hours. Ages 16+

Saturday 14th October, 1pm. The Cabin, Chapelton.
